How are you coping with the new realities? Are you managing life according to what is? Have you ever uttered the words, "When things get back to normal...."

Living life to the max then waking up one morning in ICU not knowing how i got there motivated me to always live life as if it was the last day, which back in 1966, it might have been.

Brittany Wong writes "Pining for better days, for “getting back to normal” as soon as possible, makes sense as a coping mechanism. But is it the healthiest outlook to take, when expert after expert warns that it will be quite some time until “normalcy” ― at least as we defined it pre-pandemic ― returns?"

My experience is that you can never go back home again.
The new normal is typically the persistent normal.
Humans crave stability in an unstable world.
They frequently sacrifice almost everything to maintain a sense of continuity in their life.
I am where I am, for good or ill, and when things change they'll change, but they never return to some old version of normal.
For me mask are now normal, isolation is normal, I'm learning to embrace that.

Well said, Willow_Wisp. My experience and dominant behaviour too!

The old normal is history the new coming normal is still a mystery ,So do the things you enjoy with those you love and those who you enjoy being around and let normal take care of itself ,as it is taking you for a ride so enjoy your journey and make the best of it as you / we can most likely not change it

Reading. Hiking. Sewing. Finding joy in life.

Saturday mornings, I get up and drive to the Farmer's Market. Love it! I bring pears from the Farmer's Market to an elderly friend on Saturdays. We both love pears.

Volunteering as a college mentor for first generation students (children of immigrants), helping them apply for college and scholarships.

So far, I helped Dennise write four essays. Last Saturday, she applied to Central WA University and Western WA University. Next Saturday, I will help her apply to University of Washington. Yay!

Next year it'll be something those who survive will look back on.
