In Spain there is an excellent law which states that the day before an election is a "day of reflection". During this time it is forbidden to hold political rallies, run political ads, or even comment on government policy. Infractions are heavily penalised.
Is there anything similar in the US?
I like that.
The Spaniards understand the value taking some time to not be busy and just think.
It's amazing how it helps voters to think deeply, uninfluenced by outside opinions. Even social media postings are banned and vigorously prosecuted - as some companies have discovered the hard (expensive) way.
That's wonderful.
I'd like to ask you something, as a Spaniard yourself, I think you would have some deep insight, what is the opinion in Spain of Franco today? Do they see him as a brutal fascist?
