Up-date regarding 'Genius George' the neighbourhood Evangeloon and his Steam-Powered Generator system.
About 10 minutes ago, representatives of the local City Council, the Fire Department, the Police and the Mining Inspectors arrived at his home and handed him a series of papers.
Going by the raised voice from 'Genius George' the papers were Officially Banning him from building his outrageous device on grounds of Public Safety, Not be a Qualified and Licensed Boiler-maker and Plumber, Not being a Qualified and Registered Mechanic and NOT living/working in a designated Industrial Area of town.
As they all left his house they also informed him that they WILL be returning at varied, random occasions and at unspecified times to ensure he obeys the bans.

I guess it won't be long before he tries some other damn fool thing.

Hopefully NOT for a long long time.

@Triphid But don't hold your breath.

@Lilac-JadeCanada No 'Dave Murrays' on that one, trust me.
Though I am considering writing a book which I may just title as "Living next door to an Evangeloon."

@Triphid Lemmee know....I'd buy it.

Reminds me of a friend's neighbor. They were having trouble removing a stump and this was in the days before the grinders that they have now. So, they stole dynamite from a construction site, packed it under the stump and set it off....the stump flew up and went through their roof. Boy, the cops had fun with that one. I was there when they set it off, thankfully not in the front yard or we could've been injured.

Yep, did that once myself, only it was with an old 'Long-Drop' outback toilet on friends Sheep Property.
He wanted it gone BUT when checked inside it had been used to store a few cases of Gelignite( an explosive btw) and the remaining sticks had gone 'sour' and were sweating Nitro-Glycerine, very ,very unstable stuff.
We pondered for a while and then I decided to pull out my trusty, old 7.69mm calibre Mauser rifle, walked back about 150 yards and after 3 shots in through the door opening, there was suddenly flash, a massive bang, a cloud of dust, smoke, etc, etc and the 'Long-Drop' was gone leaving just a hole in the ground.

@Triphid Glad nobody was hurt and that you guys didn't have a major hole in the roof to repair!

@Larimar The 'long drop' toilet was about 30 yards away from their homestead and behind the old stables as well.
