President Biden will have less than 18 months to make a positive impact large enough to retain the House and turn the Senate. There are 21 Republican senators up for reelection in 2022, of which at least 5 eked out wins last go around. Assuming they hold the majority following the runoff, McConnell knows that all he has to do is continue to block meaningful legislation and blame shift.

The left claims they won this election for Biden. They helped, but Trump won the election for Biden. So congressional candidates from the left lost, except in solid blue districts.
