It's what conservatism had become. Basically bigotry and hatred. Bad things. True conservatism is frugality with government debt, spending and a strong military. Not necessarily bad things.

In theory only, in terms of national debt and deficits. Republican presidents have added more to the national debt and deficits.
The USA is not the world police. Defend from within.
True conservatism is, always has been and always will be about fear. All conservative positions posit an us vs. them scenario.
