I got a letter today from PSRS/PEERS which is an educational retirement system based in Jefferson City, Missouri. These people have repeatedly proven to me their involvement in dumbfuckery. When my stepfather died September 5th, 2020 I had to prove to them that he was dead so his would no longer be given to Medicaid every month. I assume if this was not done the Medicaid payment would continue going to the nursing home.
Today's letter is good news for my . PEERS has informed her that dad's for September is waiting for her and that she can claim it immediately by direct deposit. It does not seem to matter that mom herself has been dead since February 2006. Rather than this system saving itself any in a logical sort of way, somebody at the top just wants to continue screwing it all up.
Anyone else had similar such dealings?
THIS ISSUE IS SOLVED. I found out that we did everything correct in stopping dad's PEERS money but he was actually owed the September money because the system is behind. They were trying to find relatives to give the money to so they could move on. My dead mother was one suggestion. Now it turns out that the relative is ME. I will collect this money by direct deposit and we are done. End of story.
great....it's just more reassuring to me that I will be moving away from MO in the future
What I am writing about is an educational retirement system. This one happens to be in Missouri but it could be a similar system in any state. You would think that once their money is verified it would go back into the system to help everyone once a person has passed on. My stepfather's money should have went this route once he died. I find it more than bizarre that they now send me a letter claiming my mother who died in 2006 could now get dad's money. It makes me wonder if they even have a financial officer. If their is an open stock option for this company I would certainly avoid it.
