I love to cook and try different things. When I was about 14 years old I had an Asian friend he would invite me to eat dinner at his house. On 2 occasions his mom cooked shrimp both times she had left the shell on she had a special way of cooking them that you could eat the shell and all. I had asked her how she did that. Her reply was ancient Korean secret lol. I had discovered how to cook them later in life. Soaking them in cornstarch and olive oil before you pan fry them makes the shell easy to eat and tasty as well.

I recently found out that shrimp shells are being used to make a super-duper coagulant, field tested by the US Army, it even stops bleeding in wounds of people on heparin (a super-duper anti-coagulant). I'm not sure what effects it has when ingested.

There is a buffet in town that has shrimp with edible shells. I wonder if they make them the same way

I noticed the shells left on at these resturaunt. Never knew why.
