Just reaching out: SOOOOO unbelievably sick & tired of xmas music/movies/tv-episodes/etc. Even when I try to ignore the religious aspects of it & try to enjoy the secular (I feel like I should want to enjoy it) , I keep wanting to scream "if you believe in "peace on Earth", you should want it for more than one day".
Living in Florida, where the remnants of deep southern religious oppression aren't just remnants, doesn't help my mood.

On the positive: my kids & my parents are in the same boat as I am... but it's not so easy to find friends who are disgusted with the season.

I must be the only one on the site that loves most things Christmas. I don’t have cable but love such Christmas classics as Elf, A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation, and the cheesy Christmas movies on Netflix like Operation Christmas Drop and Holidate

I will spend the day watching TV from the DVR and avoiding anything holiday themed. I loathe this time of year and my suffering is almost over.

I no longer watch tv or hear radio, I stream both.

Don't worry you soon will have Easter upon you.

I'm disgusted with Christmas and every fake thing about it. I have no thrill of seeing the fake movies and TV shows about it yearly again and again. I'm not a kid any longer and I need not be reminded of that time. People think if you do not spend money you are Scrooge. The problem here is that they did not understand Scrooge.

Sleigh Ride is an orchestral simulation of horse bells clip clopping giddyup giddyup LET'S GO more than secular we can have fun in the snow or pretend at a beach wave your arms outstretched on your back down to your thighs making real angel prints in the sand run away from wet wave ends then chase each back to the ocean

I'm not so much disgusted with Xmas as I am indifferent to it. I remember how magical it was when I was a kid which makes me wonder when it lost its appeal.

Or maybe I'm just an old Scrooge.

I shall send you my address and you can send me a present and if one doesn't come we know you are a Scrooge.

I suspect the holiday changes in meaning as you grow older and situations change. We are saddened that we can’t see the kids and grandkids this year, but we are still enjoying the day.
