No... I think this was an ignorant and criminal act of petty fools goaded by a failure of a president. This won't stop democracy nor Biden becoming president nor the Democrats gaining control of the Senate.

This will be remembered as a crowning end to a failed presidency. After all of this is over with, I think some good will come out of it. Maybe some of the GOP will see how far their party has fallen and return to reason by making political discord about actual politics and not spite, hatred, and self interest.

I hope your assessment is more accurate than mine.

Unfortunately

I hope it is not the country it has been for the last 250 years, a racist waring nation is nothing to be proud of. If we don't come out better than we were we deserve to fail.

I agree.

We can come back stronger; but it will take a hell of a lot of work. And, we need laws put in place that make it so this can never happen again. One of which being getting rid of the idea that a sitting President cannot be charged with a crime.

Yes it will live in infamy but this may lead to the end of the repuglican party if the coup doesn't succeed. I think it's a 50% chance that it will. I'm very anxious about this.

I don't think there is a chance it will succeed. The question is what we need to do to prevent this from ever happening again.
