Had drinks at a bar last night and the bartenders name was Gideon. My new drinking friend commented on the name and all the Bible’s placed in hotels and how that was a good thing.

I told him, “Really... so you think that’s a good thing?”

He looked at me like I had lost my mind.

I started to engage but pulled back when the other friend I was with gave me a scowl. She knew I was about to growl up into a battle.

I recently traveled and had a bible on my nightstand placed by the Gideon’s. It mocked me so I threw it in the back of the closet.

I thought how if any other religion than Christianity wanted to put religious text in the rooms that there would be such and uproar.

Tolerance... but only if “you are just like me”
seems to be the norm.

Such a double standard

I take that book & give it to the front desk, put it in the microwave, the toilet between the seat & the bowl, the trash receptacle. I don't wish to be billed for it so I do not destroy or deface it accept with a post it note with a large 666 on it. I'm a bad girl.

The Gideon Bible spoke to you? And mocked you? I guess you showed IT. It's probably sitting in the back of the closet wishing it had never tangled with YOU.

I just leave the blasted things in their bedside drawer and go on about my life.

It wasn’t in a drawer but on a shelf. Wasn’t my point though.

Carry on

You can request most hotels to remove the Gideon bible from your room prior to check in or you can allow the maid service find it in the trash.

You nailed it, we accept you butonly if you follow what we dictate. These same Christians want their religion and prayers in our public schools and have a holy shit fit if someone elses religion also wants a presence in the schools. None belong as an organized entity and all do as privately practiced by the students themselves.
