I'm beginning to think that just maybe the birds around here in my town, especially the Magpies have developed a dis-taste for Street Corner God-Botherers.
Today whilst out doing the usual Groceries shopping, there was, as usual, a God-botherer handing, trying to actually with VERY little success, out religious pamphlets on a Street corner.
Not a tree in sight, just buildings with roofs and the like but about 3 or 4 Magpies seem to have decided to suddenly Stuka style dive at him and him only even though there literally dozens of people all around the area as well.
For a good 20 minutes at least they kept up their swooping attacks until they had managed to drive him off and when he was gone they simply left the area.
Before today I've loved Magpies and their sweet warbling song but now, after this, it has grown to a very great admiration for their ' Avian Atheism ' ....LOL.

VERY wise birds!

Funny thing about that little event, the Nesting Season is over here and Maggies ONLY swoop attack occasionally during Nesting Season.
I've had pair of Maggies nesting in one my trees for years now and they've never once swooped me or anyone passing by so why did they decide to swoop the God-botherer and drive him off?

@Triphid Obviously someone they didn't like in their territory.

@Lilac-JadeCanada Oh, I should have also that our magpies are also well renowned for 'Stuka Diving' Mormon Missionaries as well.

@Triphid Hahahaha....as I said, very wise birds!!!
