Dave Goulson, a bee expert, was asked why bee conservation was so important. Of course he explained all of the things that bees do for us, but then he went on to say something that I think was even more important:
The second reason is, they're lovely. We have no right to drive things to extinction. And I sometimes get fed up with having to make economic arguments to justify conservation
