The first Racist was the pseudo god of Abraham because of all the people it choose the Jews as the special ones , what about the others ? Humanity is all the same dear Jehova , now I let you know that discrimination is considered a Crime !!
well... first thing in the morning and were already playing agnostic limbo. seeing how many agnosticus nincompoopi can dance under the low bar of a stupid idea, with or without falling on their asses..........and please stop using the word "racist". it guarantees that you will be considered a thoughtless moron and your "ideas" will be dismissed. speaking of such dismissals, stop casting the jews as fall guys in your dopey dated formulation about "chosen people". are you really oblivious to what the germans recently chose them for? and the history of pogroms? crypto anti- semites amaze me! why waste time rummaging around in old religious myths anyway?
Or another way to show discrimination based on religion. Religion is not a race. Since this site is basically the belief that there is no basis for "religion" it's just a way for some people to vent their religious discrimination. There are enough reasons to hate people just because they are assholes, let alone based on something forced on them at birth or based on something non-existent.
I am doing a copy and paste from another discuss so I don't have to retype a lot. It has inform for you to consider before you too quickly say the God of Abraham is "psuedo". I find the facts to be rather verifiable.
Illogical atheist says, "In my research, I have never encountered a shred of evidence that he [referring to Abraham] was real, only unsupported mythological claims."
So, I ask:
What research have you done and how is the following 20 minutes worth of research not supported by current events and connections to what was written 1000s of years ago?
Observation from biblical text point of view:
Referring to Abraham ""I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing." Genesis 12:2
First, has there been a great nation come from Abraham? Abraham to son Issac to son Jacob. Jacob's name changed to Israel for which thiere is the nation of Israel, decendents of purported Abraham.
Another, Is Abraham's name greatly known? Yes, maybe not talked about at every dinner table everyday, but would appear publicly to be well know even now 1000s of years later.
From the Nation of Israel: Have they been blessed with intelligence and has their intelligence and intellectual contributions been a blessing to the world?
Facts (a bit randomly pulled from internet searches, but still facts):
There have been just over 900 Nobel prize winners since the first at the beginning of the 20th century. As Jews are 0.2 percent of the global population, we should have won two. We have won 206. [blogs.timesofisrael.com]
Nobel Prizes[note 1] have been awarded to over 900 individuals,[1] of whom at least 20% were Jews.[2] The number of Jewish people receiving Nobel prizes has been the subject of some attention.[3 [en.m.wikipedia.org]
From Abraham was Ishmael, First son with servant woman.
Referring to Ishmael, considered the patriarch of Islam: "He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone's hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers." Genesis 16:12
Islam even now, 1000s of years later appears to be some wild donkey people that is always fighting against "brothers" Judism and christianity.
Seems like islam and Judaism are the wild donkey people as they are closer in belief. One worships the sandal, one worships the gourd. Christianity is their bastard love child.
That's a darn good post! I'm not sure about Jews being naturally superior to other people, though. We can certainly respect their ingenuity and their complete refusal to roll over and die. I think, and this is nothing more than an opinion, that the Jews became an extraordinary people because of their desperate struggle against their extinction. I think in other ways, they are as flawed as anyone else. I'm sure you know that God describes them in scripture as a 'stiff-necked' people (Exodus 32:9). Later on, I believe the rabbis turn this criticism into praise for people who would not bow down to anyone, never mind God, without a fight.
The Hebrew scriptures show that Jehovah's choice had nothing to do with racism but came about through the friendship he developed with Abraham. The Hebrews were to become the instrument used to bring about salvation through the Messiah that would come from Abraham's seed. When it came to the treatment of pagans compared to the treatment of the Hebrews, the treatment was based on Jehovah's notions of sin and punishment but with an added burden placed on the Hebrews. They were punished more severely because they had entered into a covenant with Jehovah by agreeing to live according to his laws. When I say severely, I mean it in a relative sense rather than absolute. If a people were judged by God to live in an utterly reprehensible way, they were killed off completely. I don't by any means agree with this ancient barbarism. I just want to say that Jehovah's motive was anything but racist.
Once you pick somebody above the others you are considered a Racist no matter who you are. They are just Fairy tales anyhow, I never believed in them not even as an altar boy and I was the best at Sunday school and knew all the mass in Latin.
There is considered Jew and everyone else gentle. I would say a little edgy to say racist, but by biblical documentation it is about certain decendents along the family tree.
Yes but the story was probably invented as an indirect way to justify racism. Johovah after all, does not make choices, he does not do anything, because he does not exist. But those who thought of themselves as Abrahams children did, and inventing a story about 'our' predecesseor is a way of defining a pseudo-race into existence.
And, "the good Sheppard " aspect, do you know anything about how animals are bread like making different styles of dogs? The laws of the old testiment "shepherded" the people in ways to weed out bad rebelious children an such as if weeding out those with bad behaviors would cultivate a human animal mentality to follow laws of government.
@Sofocleto To think all choice among people is down to racism is daft. What about merit? What about nepotism? There must be many motivations. As for the scriptures being fairytales, I like to think of them as myth or ancient psychology. Your post is based on wishful thinking. Well, learning Latin in Mass is a far cry from learning scripture. It's a blockbuster that I must assume you have not read.
@holdenc98 I'm not sure that's provable, but it wouldn't surprise me at all. I don't think you get where I'm coming from. I just want to reject the idea of God choosing the Jews out of a racist motivation. This is not to imply the Bible is true. It is just to say I see nothing written in scripture to to support the idea of a racist Jehovah. Quite the opposite, I think.
There was a famous peruvian humorist cartoonist, writer and columnist with the same name you chose to plagiarize.
Yes Luis Felipe Angell , I lived i Arequipa Peru 6 years , I red his books , the best the Manual of the Perfect deported and I used to buy his weekly single sheet paper news where he put the picture of a general with the title " El Huevon de la semana "
Discrimination is considered a crime, but not to those in power. They find it un-fair that you even bring up the subject and might even tell you that racism is not an issue in America today. That's what my female barber said yesterday before she also said she does not like BLM or Antifa and cannot agree with either of them. People are unable to see how horrible they are. Mike Pompeo, former CIA director and Trump Secretary of State, has even said that "America is not a multi-cultural nation." Statements like this are not very hard for me to figure out.
Racism, hate and jealousy are all unproductive emotions.
I try to be receptive and open to everyone but the most irritating statement I have ever heard is " We are the chosen people. "After about three times in a conversation I am hoping they are chosen for unspeakable consequences.
