You'd be surprised at how many different species/types, etc, of microbes, bacteria, etc, etc, inhabit the Human body, both internally and externally.
Some are good, some are just so-so, some are bloody nasty little buggers.

Far, far more important than "pro"-biotics are "pre"-biotics.
Probiotics merely attempt to introduce a limited range of non-lethal bacteria, most of which get killed by the acid in your stomach before reaching the gut.
Prebiotics are the foodstuffs that your existing gut bacteria thrive upon. You're probably better off eating some fresh raspberries than any amount of "delicious, probiotic yoghurt", with or without fruit.
In fact, just peeling and eating a banana probably beats the benefits claimed by the marketing moguls of branded yoghurts.

More research to do 😉

Fermented foods like sour pickles, sauerkraut, miso, natto and yogurt have beneficial probiotics.

But only in a limited way.
