Trust investors and the advertisers they hire.

Science has debunked all of these, that’s what science does

Yes it does, It just takes 30 to 40 years after the damage is done.

@St-Sinner we debunk no crap before it’s time...😉

@Canndue

What are you talking about? Scientists miss a lot of things all the time. Science is a long process that includes hits and misses and in this process lives are lost. Ultimately good comes out of it but it is not reliable in the short run. A lot of wrong conclusions, wrong predictions have been made by science. The world of science includes junk science and bad science. Commend successes but not glorify all science.

Read this [nytimes.com]

More than 3 million people died in one year due to Covid-19 and scientists missed early warning signs.

@St-Sinner me thinks you are stating the obvious. I was merely jesting...

Yep...they made it sound smart, cool, hip, and like every person we desired to be like, wanted it...even made it sound classy.....and the poorly educated were the ones that generally fell for it most.........

Now it is Environmental Science where people are trying to sell us wind farms, solar panels and batteries. Science predicted 10 times that the world would end in the last 70 years including Al Gore's 'the world would freeze in 2008". "Scientifically Proven" is always a good sales pitch. Silicon breast implants were safe at one time according to science.

People don't realize that there is good science, bad science and junk science.

@St-Sinner Junk science called creationism.

@St-Sinner So it's a bad thing to reduce the air, land, and water pollution? So you think climate change is a lie?

@xenoview
Reduce, do everything you can to help the environment but the world is not ending tomorrow. This issue is not above all other issues. It is an issue. No need to make a fuss at the UN, no need to yell immaturely at world leaders, no need to do publicity stunts.

Nobody is stopping you. Just do not drag others into it and don't put this issue about world hunger, child slavery, violence that is killing people today, not tomorrow.

@St-Sinner some do...and I'm sure that leaning toward air and solar, is better than depending on fossil fuels. Doing however much we can do as individuals to recycle, save on water usage, and trying to not pollute is better than fighting against.

These are ads designed to be manipulating.

All ads are designed to be manipulating.

@Canndue But the ones by big pharma are particularly nuts. Look at any typical drug commercial. The ads are designed to brainwash you, manipulate you into thinking that YOU NEED that drug, and that by using it your life will be better, and look at the actors and actresses in them, the way they look so happy because of it.

@CuddyCruiser agree, it’s crazy, they should be banned. Last thing we need in this country is more pharma

My mother used to smoke with me in the car, and the windows rolled up. I had bronchitis every year as a child. :'( Think of the diseases these ads spawned.

7

No Madison Square marketing gave us these. Science had little to do with it really. It didn't take science to roll a cigarette

8

These were NOT "given us by science" they were given us courtesy of cigarette, etc, advertisers/manufacturers "funding research" or outright bribery....get it right, quit adding to the rampant willful ignorance!
