Is there any more worthless of a sentiment than "thoughts and prayers?" Anyone ever been consoled those? To be clear I'm talking about responses to mass shootings, violent attacks on capitols etc.

I have a favorite T-shirt made by a local store that specializes in snarky shirts. It has a big headline of "Thoughts And Prayers" followed by a definition of how there is no factual basis for them accomplishing anything and that is followed by recommended actions such as protest and legislation to correct wrongs, etc. It's fun to see the reactions to it by mainstream believers...

Yeah perhaps people could pray BEFORE it happens to keep it from happening 🤪🤪 Or I don't know, maybe decide that their fucking god's plan isn't such a great plan

Thoughts are good. People mean well. When my mother passed away, I didn't take offense to it.
