And they don't just randomly get warrants. They first have to show a judge evidence that a crime has been committed and that there is probable cause that evidence is to be found at the location being targeted (and that the evidence is at risk of being lost if not seized).

I also read that a grand jury has been empaneled for the case. Again, that emphasizes the seriousness of Rudy's situation but unfortunately it means the proceedings will be kept secret until the grand jury reaches a decision.
