It's too f**king much! He's supposed to be a public servant, not sucking up to corporate donors to enrich himself.

Ladies... I stand corrected.
My bet is that he is running for the exit because he finally realized that a lot of what he has been doing can land him in prison. Methinks he wants to be as far away from DC as he and his loot can get

Obviously something has caused the decision, unusual to step back from power. Or maybe he is smarter than we think and is saying, hey, I scammed enough money and I don't have to ever work again.
He feels the heat that 40 other congressional Republicans who are retiring also feel. He is distancing himself from Trump, but I bet he runs for president next time.
@EdEarl That may be his plan right now but my bet is that he follows the John Boehner route and becomes a spokesperson for some organization or another.
