I don't like humans very much if I'm honest. I see some ugliness in others only to be reminded that I probably also have the same ugliness somewhere in me only waiting to surface. But wonderful human stories like this one also remind me that I shouldn't give up on humans.

Yay Choctaw, my grandma was half Choctaw.
My grandma never knew her mother’s name because her dad never called her mother anything but squaw, which I think is tragic.
Apparently my great great grandmother’s mom hid to avoid the trail of tears because she was pregnant at the time.
They lived in Alabama and Mississippi.

I remember reading about this several years ago. It's wonderful that to very different peoples have shown love and support for each other all these years.
