There’s a steel/iron sculpture of huge Native American feathers in Ireland dedicated to the NA’s that donated to the famine. The sculpture is called Kindred Spirits. Breathtaking.

I don't like humans very much if I'm honest. I see some ugliness in others only to be reminded that I probably also have the same ugliness somewhere in me only waiting to surface. But wonderful human stories like this one also remind me that I shouldn't give up on humans.

Yay Choctaw, my grandma was half Choctaw.
My grandma never knew her mother’s name because her dad never called her mother anything but squaw, which I think is tragic.
Apparently my great great grandmother’s mom hid to avoid the trail of tears because she was pregnant at the time.
They lived in Alabama and Mississippi.

I remember reading about this several years ago. It's wonderful that to very different peoples have shown love and support for each other all these years.

Erected at Midleton, Co.Cork in 2017, this striking statue was made in stainless steel by sculptor Alex Pentek on commission by the officials of the town.
