I always find it interesting to learn about the ancient history of our earth and how the conditions it has existed under for the majority of its existence refutes arguments from religious understanding. The linked video is "What was the earth like 2 billion years ago?" It was apparently very inhospitable especially for life as we know it. The sun was not as bright as it is today, and it was not able to keep the planet thawed for even a season. Consequently, the earth's surface was a frozen ball completely encased in ice much like some of the celetial bodies such as other planet's moons are today. The ozone layer had not yet formed so life was particularly difficult where sunlight could penetrate. So much for our planet being uniquely designed to support our form of life. It is more like life form changed with the changing planet so life would be suited for the conditions earth presented it with. We are as much a product of the earth as we find it rather than anything else. It is a half hour video but is interesting if this is what you enjoy.
We honestly don't know what the earth was like 2 billion years ago. All we can do is guess what it was like.
Perhaps. The best evidence does give us indications and puzzle pieces that can be pieced together. The video does address some of this evidence. I don't believe the scenarios presented are constructed with no basis.
