We have all heard a lot about flags in the last 4 years and I want to tell you about Independence Day flags in my area. We probably had 200 of them and they appeared to be full size flags as far as I can tell. On every street corner and less than a block apart on major streets, these flags were on poles and put into flag holders everywhere.

I'm ex-military myself and you may have heard about how a flag has to be raised or lowered, how it cannot touch certain things, how it has to be folded, etc. This is all the Patriotism you hear about so often, but it did not apply to these flags as I watched a city truck go by and collect them. The truck pulls up to a flag and a man gets out, grabs the flag and throws it n the back of the truck. The truck pulls up to the next flag, a man gets out and throws the flag in the back of the truck. The process of a city collecting it's flags was very educational.

Disrespectful. Perhaps the workers were not Americans?

They are Americans. I'm not sure if they are with the City itself or with the Kiwanis Club but a man I know claims he is going to get to the bottom of this because they will not disrespect his flag. My guess is that nobody wanted to take time to fold 200 flags.
