Does it make you feel uneasy having to attend weddings or funerals in a church? I have to admit I don't like it but I try to keep in mind that it is temporary, and I always know where the Exit signs are located.

Hate it. Had to go to a baptism recently. Honestly, when I go into a church service, I feel like I walked into a cult. I get nervous, defensive... can't wait to get out!

I have already decided that my old man's funeral will be the absolute last time I ever set foot in that church I was raised in. I hate that place. When my grandmother died the pastor turned the service into a diatribe about pornography, gay marriage, and abortion. It will probably be the last time I visit my hometown as well.

I don't like funerals in or out of church, I try not to go.

At weddings I roll my eyes when the officient declares that Jesus is the third partner in the marriage. At funerals I roll my eyes when the officient or eulogist declares the deceadent having gone to heaven.
I go to such functions as a show of friendship to the parties involved. They are major social occasions.

I don't care for it, but would make the sacrifice for family though.

At my grandmother's funeral the pastor (possibly drunk) got onstage and announced that he would miss her regular large donations. He insisted that her family were welcomed to continue to donate funds. He then had helpers pass around giant brass donation plates. That on second thought looked like fancy plant pots. I did it once but probably never again.

I hate weddings so I usually don't go. I can't remember the last funeral I went to very well, but I'm pretty sure I was uncomfortable and stifled-feeling.

I dont.
Haven't been to a wedding, funeral, or any such in decades.
I decided long ago to not do things I don't really want to do.
Not worth it.

I don’t like it, because my memories of church are so negative. I can get through it, most times. I try to daydream rather than focus on the service.

Nah. I try to ignore the words and keep the eye rolling to a minimum (especially at funerals).

A small price to pay for an agreeable meal.

Not any worse than some business meetings I've had to sit through....

It doesn’t bother me.

I go on autopilot for these, and try to be happy or supportive of the families. I pay no attention to the words. ?
