Over 900 Black people, mostly young men, shot (usually with multiple rounds) & killed so far this year in police incidents, many of them clearly unjustified; not a peep from the Right.

Ashli Babbitt, White female, shot once in the shoulder & died during a felony insurrection, on video, in the U. S. Capitol; she's a "martyr". And I can count on one hand how many Republicans have stood up nationally and said, "No, she was shot while committing a crime."

Shouldn't this pretty much say it all for anyone who wants to know what the Republican party's values are when it comes to racial equality? (Never mind "justice", that hasn't even been on the table yet.)

The hypocrisy of the right is so glaring, it’s likely what’s starting all the forest fires....👀

The right is happy to see 900, or so, fewer Blacks living, breathing the white man's air, eating the country's food, and voting no less!

That says it all for me but people are strange. In another blog spot a Latino who married a black woman and then they had 3 kids told me that I am racist. Was it because me and my black wife had no kids? I wonder. As for GOP values, they have none.

Probably because "race" is an easy card to throw for some people on both sides, when they're losing the debate. Whereas I am just making an observation, above, in the contrasting attitudes toward the cases and wondering if race is any factor.

It would to any civilized, compassionate human being, but that's not who we're dealing with here.

For a dispassionate, outside "independent", not a committed party member, you would imagine, though. That's the group I can't figure out.

@Paul4747 Hopefully they are a bit intimidated from speaking up but will do it as a vote. I think the gQp has grossly overplayed its hand.

@rainmanjr I hope you're right, but I've thought that for the past six years, so I can only hope.

@Paul4747 I can't understand why the "old school" GOP hasn't created a new party, one that isn't run by 45 & Co. Why are they allowing the crazy ones to take over the party?

@Paul4747 I'm an Independent, but I'm constantly being labeled as a liberal democrat whenever I speak out against ALL the bullshit happening.
The reich-wing refuse to accept that anyone who doesn't support all their insanity can be anything but a liberal socialist commie democrat.

The democrats better get their act together and quit trying to satisfy everyone.
That's never going to happen.
The amount of damage the right has caused, and is still causing, needs to be met with a much more significant response.

@KKGator I agree. The Dems have thus far become complacent that just being decent human beings will hold on to the office, and they're letting bygones be bygones as far as pursuing criminal activity by the previous administration.

The far right is constantly planning their offense, and are increasingly likely to regain power in 2022.

@Lauren The old time GOP is scared to death that the Trumpites will take their ball and start a new party, which will leave them out in the cold and split the vote nationwide. Think Ross Perot, but with a candidate in every single congressional and senate race. They are so desperate to cling to power that they don't care what compromises they have to make.

I believe that the Democrats are quite properly leaving it mostly to the courts and the criminal justice system to do the criminal investigations. They don't want to start a sideshow and further mobilize the right against them by giving them a cause celebre', it's bad enough just being in office. (Especially knowing that no Republican in office will stand up nd do the right thing, we've already seen that.) Trump's is the party of "lock them up" chants, even when it's justified in this case. And a federal judge has already hinted from the bench that Trump's status as former President will not shield him; fomenting an insurrection is not part of the duties of the office, therefore he has no immunity from criminal or civil charges.

There is a Jan. 6 commission, but I'm sure it will be blocked from getting anywhere significant. I mean, it's not like the Capitol was attacked or anything, not like 9/11. Waitaminute.... strike that.... it's not like foreigners attacked the Capitol.

@KKGator And I'm a moderate, which, in my county, means they think I'm 2 steps left of Hillary. Go up to the U of M and they think I voted for Trump 3 times. It's not easy having nuanced politics, sometimes.
