I was very very happy with the Obama's in office. I was pissed in 2010 when we crippled his plans with a republican sweep...but one of my favorite moments was when Obama said,'The american people have spoken and I will change my plans accordingly' (I can only paraphrase, though I bet I could find the speech on youtube. Even though it went against what I wanted, he was right. Yet, he still managed to keep us from being the asshats that we have discovered our government can be with this complete narcisstic incompetent. I have very few heroes in this world. Most are people I know directly. But The First Family Obama's are my heroes. Fighter's, every one of 'em.

Yes, but many people just could not get past the fact that it wasn't white people living in the White House. That was really the whole issue, always. None of us alive today will live long enough to see the kind of changes that we need. And it's not just in the US, or just a skin color issue. Seems too many humans will only tolerate other people who are just like them. Religion, politics, skin color, language, economics, diet, body shape and so many more issues just seem to divide us from the rest. Wish it were not so, but the Obamas in the WH just really re-activated the sleeping racists who were just waiting for a reason to re-arm. And those people helped bring us the idiot we now have in the WH and caused the rest of the GOP to go along with everything that has happened since. These are difficult times. The future will be interesting.
