Men do not understand the hardships the women suffer under their governance.

Which is a HUGE reason we need more women in government. Women are universally more concerned about taking care of people. Men are more concerned about victory, whether in governments or corporations.

@mischl what is your view of the events?

No outside force or influence has yet learned how to help Afghanistan. But "help" in whatever form must be a 50- to 100-year endeavor. The primary step will be infusing education, although with the Taliban in command, that is / will be difficult. A second step is to use their needs & wants to open up more and more international intercourse.

@mischl Thanx. In one way, America in 1787 was like Afghanistan is now, only the children of wealthy families went to school.

To see a difference, Google the text of the Afghan constitution. Its preamble opens with:

“In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of Worlds; and Praise and Peace be upon Mohammad, His Last Messenger and his disciples and followers
We the people of Afghanistan:
Believing firmly in Almighty God, relying on His divine will and adhering to the Holy religion of Islam; ....”

@yvilletom And THAT is exactly the kind of place I never want to be. No thank you.
