I expect most of us here on the site have now been double jabbed, and probably most of our friends and family too. I think it would be interesting to find out how many of us have had a serious adverse reaction. By serious adverse reaction I don’t mean a sore arm for a couple of days or a redness or itchiness around the vaccination site, because both of them are transient and absolutely normal after vaccination.

The reason I’m asking is because I’ve just seen a post here on the site citing that over 56% of people report having adverse reactions after second vaccinations - I believe it was the Pfizer jab he was referencing, but I think the percentage of adverse reactions of all of the vaccines are likely to probably be quite similar. This was on a post by our resident anti-vaxxer and self appointed covid expert / obsessive.

I’m not into doing polls…just interested to know, because I don’t know of one person having serious complications here at home…and I can’t say I’ve seen anyone talk about having them here onsite either. So I’ll just leave this here for you to respond to if you have anything to report.

Nothing here above the sore arm, & muscle aches for one day. One of my granddaughters fainted within the 15 minute wait time after her first, but that's the only thing I heard. We're all vaccinated now except for my eldest son who doesn't want it....I think he's wrong, but it's his decision.

Does he say why?

@Marionville He lives in a tiny area in Saskatchewan, goes to a larger town for groceries every 2 weeks, works, & sees the same few people all the time, so he thinks his risk is low, but I say all it takes is once. All he has to do is be exposed to one person while on one of those shopping trips......

If the boy was living under my roof he would get the shot or a boot in the ass

@Redneckliberal The ''boy'' happens to be 52 years old!

@lilac-jadecanada as long as they walk theyll still be our kid!!

@Redneckliberal Well we've tried to convince him, but the decision is still his.
We also haven't seen him for 9 years as we don't travel, & neither does he.

My second AstraZeneca dose left me feeling wrecked for the following day. That fits with what is known about my immune system: it borders on being pathologically strong. My spouse had very little reaction to her second dose.

Sounds absolutely what would be expected from the annual flu jab.

@Marionville I have almost no reaction to flu jabs. At worst it is nothing more than a very mild hangover the following day.

@anglophone Me too. I think last year my arm was a bit itchy for around an hour or two.
