Anyone here ever got into the literature of the American philospher Alan Watts. In past years I really got into his viewpoint of life ect. My favourite books by him are 'The Taboo of Knowing Who You Really Are' 'The Wisdom of Insecurity' and 'Nature,Man and Woman' He also was a lecturer on the difficult subject of Zen Buddhism spiced up by his wonderful sense of humour. Not as much into that kind of literature these days but the first book I mentioned really altered the way I looked at life and the meaning of existence.

I absolutely love Alan Watts. My favorite? The Book -- on the taboo against knowing who you are. The first I read was Nature, Man and Woman. I was attracted to the word Nature in the title. I have every book he has written and some that his son compiled from his talks. I had been thinking along the lines of his reasoning for 20 years when I found him. It was great finding a kindred spirit.

I also have some books written about him. One has some of his early writings. He was amazing even when he was 13 years old.

A great mind .One of my favorite quotes of his “ You don’t look out there for God,something in the sky,You look in you”

Yes, and great sense of mischievious humour also

The more correct title of the first one is "The Book" 'On the Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are.' I just realised that I still have my original copy and found it this morning.

I have read and listened to him since late teens, first one was the taboo one given to me by my mum

I'm unfamiliar with his work, but I'll keep an eye out for his writing. Thanks for the recommendation.
