The same language, the same phrases, yet very different meanings. Brits are bloody annoying. 🤪

I was once engaged to a British lady. It was always fun when we had a speed bump. When I mentioned biscuits and gravy for breakfast, she thought I had gone mad.

I'm on her side! Lol! When an American friend of mine so proudly posted a photo of her own biscuits and gravy on FB, my reaction was "WTF...!" Lol! No offence!

@Ryo1
None taken. She was expecting what Murcans call cookies covered in gravy. 🙂

"Brits are bloody annoying".

Oh, I wouldn't say that but their mastery of euphemism is superlative.

It's bloody annoying among Brits themselves, sometimes. Lol

This is hilarious! Clear communication is essential.

Rejecting a man, I don't want to hurt his feelings. "We don't make a good match" means we don't make a good match. No need to go into detail saying he acted:

  1. Critical.
  2. Emotionally stunted.
  3. Boring and no fun. No visible sense of humor.
  4. Insensitive, hurtful and cruel at times.
  5. Can't cook.

This describes the last man I met.
