Hello fellow free thinkers. Just getting started here. One of the things that strikes me all the time is all the people who go on church sponsored mission trips to spread the message of invisible friends. We don't go knocking on doors to tell people they shouldn't believe something. Much less leave the country to spread the word of the flying spaghetti monster or whoever.

Welcome! I think maybe there are two types of church sponsored mission trips; some that are only about spreading the word of what they believe, but also some to do things that help people in need - like clean up from hurricaines and things. I don't understand much about the former myself. Maybe they get some sort of internalized validation if they convince someone else to believe as they do.
