Delta 'Plus' Covid variant may be more transmissible
It is also far less pathogenic, presenting as a very mild illness in most people. Get it, get over it, and develop a robust, long lasting innate immunity to all corona viruses and variants. This is the trajectory of all viral epidemics, they will die out naturally after enough people have been exposed.
I read that the delta plus has a different spike configuration. This is bad news since the vaccine recognizes the virus by its spikes. We could end up back at square one.
The vaccines target a specific spike protein and thus offer a very narrow protection, that may not be effective as the virus mutates.
Wow...what could be more transmissible than Delta? I guess that's the answer, sad but true.
Maybe if we would have reached herd immunity we might be safe.....but with so many anti-vaxxers we will never be safe.
I've heard several doctors say COVID's here to stay, and we'll get shots every year, just like with the flu. I'm getting my Moderna booster Sunday. I hope everyone here stays safe. It's the viral mutations I'm concerned about.
Sooner or later I guess we'll find out.
