Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.As a nurse practitioner I can tell you this fruit is deadly to dialysis patients. It contains a neurotoxin that healthy kidneys filter out. A dialyzer cannot filter it. This neurotoxin causes intractable hiccups, followed by death.

My try was Very sour....maybe not ripe? How could you tell?
@AnneWimsey When it's yellow, not green. Mine was not too sour, but I didn't love it. It was just okay. There are other tropical fruits I like better, like mangoes.
