A christian numerologist (how twisted is that?) claims that April 23rd, 2018 will be the Rapture that so many fundamentalist christians eagerly anticipate. While numerology is as loony as christianity in my book I can't help but be a bit hopeful that somehow I will wake up tomorrow and find all the loony fundamentalist christians beamed up by their Rapture. Unlikely to happen as this christian numerologist has been wrong on his dates at least twice before, still wouldn't put it past some people to be acting a bit stranger than normal tomorrow.

Leave clothing scattered about town. Fuck with them

I’m gonna stop what I’m doing and go to the goodwill right now.

I got news from New Zealand.
It didn't happen.

There is a rapture scheduled for June too! I wish they'd make up their minds. Lol

It'll be just as fun to watch then as well?

Wasn't there also a rapture scheduled for last week? God really is a slowpoke.

Ho hum. Another end of the world. It won't come on one day, silly. It will be a slow slide into extinction.

I too, hope with all my heart, that April 23rd will be the day that all Christians are taken away from this planet.

Wow that is the best alternative. Get them the hell away from civilization and we may then carry on.

Life on earth without fake beings would be nice touch welcome by the universe of intelligent life.

I hear you! I was just telling my daughter last night that I hoped it wouldn't be a fluke - I'd love to watch all the loonies ascending to the troposphere; maybe Earth would have a shot at some real progress once they're gone. 😀 Thought of buying up a bunch of old shoes and leaving them in pairs around town..... I don't know how many 'The Time Has Come!' dates are going to pass before these people wake up to reality...

I'm feeling really light on me feet today. ???

Wrong again!!!
Damn it!!!!

NASA covered it up ...again !

I think the imagineers are becoming used to the predictions not coming true. They don't seem to be getting as excited and agitated since a new rapture date comes around every year or two. The predictions don't even make mainstream news any more.

Help us Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're our only hope

There's a song by Tool that addresses "the end is near" with an emphatic sure do hope so... I could use a break! I'll have to play it in the car tomorrow with my windows down. 🙂

I drove around with the sunroof open listening to that tune today... "Some say we'll see Armeggedon soon, certainly hope we do, I sure could use a vacation from all this stupid $#!+"

The day isn't over yet! It could still happen....

Still here..... Tick tock, tick tock.... ???

@IamNobody One can only hope, even a little light show would be nice. 😀

The second coming and rapture have been predicted soooooo many times! The earliest one about which I learned was a guy named William Miller predicting that jesus would arrive in October, 1844. It was a hard winter for his followers. Sigh. How times have (not) changed.

Are people not getting tired of making end-time predictions? I mean, they’ve been wrong literally 100% of time. If I were wrong every time, I would think that maybe my premise was flawed to begin with, but what do I know?

To be a fundamentalist christian that believes the end is nigh requires the suspension of reason so it's not that hard for them to just keep doing the same thing over and over again and still expecting a different result. Something which Einstein described as the definition of insanity.

If you predict the end of the world every day eventually, you'll be right. After that nobody will remember all of the times you were wrong.

@JimG You’re only gonna eventually be right if you first find a way to crack post-singularity life extension. Even then...

Christians have been making end time predictions for 2000 years. Maybe in another 2000 years they will finally give up on "No Show Jesus"

Twice, I must have heard this 5 X in the past 20 years. I think they want to cash in on donations before the big event that never ends up happening which was usually postphoned till next year.

So... What should I wear for the Rapture? Or should I just call in sick and maybe sleep through it?
Seems poetic that it's a Monday though.
Good luck.

I was a little disappointed that the "rapture" hadn't happen when I was on my morning walk.

Just another Monday morning here in Canada, people back to their workaday existence. Scotty forgot to beam the rest of them up. Oh well, best get to work.
