I disagree. Would they rather have a real right wing Republican senator from West Virginia? I would prefer a conservative Democrat like Manchin. He sits with the Democrats. He votes with the Democrats most of the time and he supported Joe Biden for president. No room in the Democratic party for alternate opinions? John Tester and Joe Manchin are two Democratic senators who got elected in two staunch GOP states. We are lucky to have them.

Anyone more left than JM is not likely to win in VA, I'm told and believe, but this guy usually votes with us. Therefore, I'd get over the butt-hurt that he's being political. If we pass another $1.5T bill it will noticeably improve jobs in VA and maybe we can get another trillion, or so, in 2023. Without JM we are unlikely to get anything ever again. That's the sad fact of the matter and the reason why he is using his political power. I think that, in the end, he will vote for it and Voting Rights.

The more I read about Joe Manchin & the state of West Virginia the more I just shake my head in disgust. I find it difficult to believe that there is no one in the entire state with a brain that does not want to lead their citizens towards a better life. He recently said he opposed the child tax credit because the parents would use the extra money to buy highly addictive drugs, yet it is common knowledge that the root cause of many who fall into addiction is their difficulty in economic survival.
