CLIMATE DENIAL--Whats really going on?

Do the plutocrats, CARE about the short- and medium-range destruction of our atmosphere, oceans, and the living things (including us) which occupy this planet?
Or are they more like the amoral, robotically-greedy, corporations they own and run?
The answer SEEMS to be no, they could care less, at least not for the vast majority of us, who seem to be only "consumer units" necessary to bestow upon themselves the god-like powers untold riches make possible.
And IF they care not for the environment, how much do you think they're concerned about our societal structures, such as they are--political systems (including democracy), institutions, cultures, or anything else to do with human activity (except maybe their own)?
Does this mean they think the human race is doomed (except for themselves)? If so, are they planning for--if not DELIBERATELY bringing about--this destruction, self-fulfilling some Armageddon-like prophecy, wittingly or not?
Hey, I'm just asking, not making any wild claims...

Why do you think they are buying up New Zealand (or wherever) getaways, even building underground mega-bunkers, some more like mini-cities, inaccessible by any except themselves and their fellow plutocrats?
Facilities designed to be self-sustaining regardless of what's happening above ground?
Regardless of their preparations, the wealthy among us do not seem to have much faith in our long-term prospects! I'm not sure if this is a well-thought-out, plan, some plutocratic conspiracy to let the rest of us burn...
But it can't be ruled it, either.
So, are these captains of industry themselves victims of the corporate monsters they, and their predecessors, have created?
Do they HAVE to lie about the ecological disaster their transnational corporate system is bringing about?
Do they do so willingly, even enthusiastically, having acquired a fatalistic "eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die" mindset, victims of their own "success?"
Or have they hypnotized themselves into actually believing their own "
misinformation?"
No matter, the destruction, regardless of why, continues apace.
