The United states is now a nation of 328 million ppl, weilding more influence than any ppl in human history. Yet, there r approx.250 million who believe that Jesus will return someday and orchestrate the end of the world with his magical powers. This hankering, for a spiritual oblivion is extreme and dumb to the tenth power in every sense, it is extremely silly, extremely dangerous, and must b condemned forthwith. There is no question that most Americans reliably claim to believe the preposterous and have done immense harm to the american reputation in the world.the world is currently laughing at Americans.

Long, loud, and hard, you think the religion thing is bad? A third of us still think Trump is doing a good job.

I wish I knew the answer how we could convince all these people that they are believing in a fairy tale.

I wouldn't mind so much if like most primitive peoples those fundamentalist Americans only had stone tools but they have a nuclear arsenal and that is very scary. People who are passionate about bringing about the end of life on the planet should not have access to the nuclear weapons that would facilitate that end.

@SilverDollarJedi It's true that much of the world paints Americans with a broad brush when it comes to their opinion of American foreign policy and American fundamentalism, generally because they have never lived in the US. My work took me abroad for several decades and I lived for several years in the US, my children all have dual American/Canadian citizenship and many of my friends are Americans, so I understand better than most that the US has been hijacked by fundamentalist christianity and corporatism. I don't paint Americans with the broad brush that most of the world does because I've actually been there and know that a majority of Americans are kind and decent people but they are under a lot of stress from the groups that are doing their best to undermine that kindness and decency. For the sake of my children who live in the US still and my American friends I am gravely concerned for the direction the US is headed in.
