Loved the series. The whole notion of a tainted half of magic was brilliant. The characters were relateable, the story line was exciting and the writing was superb

I'm now reading S. M. Stirling's "Emberverse" series. I am liking it very muchly so. Lately with this world being in such a state of flux that i find myself drawn to Alternative History type Fantasy novels, especially those of a series. I read about 4 hours each day for escape from this crappy corrupted to the core world we live in. But soon I will escape for real. I suggest you check out S. M. Stirling as well.

I enjoyed Robin Hobb’s series with Fitz and the Fool... the whole Farseer thing!

Surprised I'm the only one to say this but I really liked this series.

Sorry, I am a non-fiction person (a realist), but I see that you are new and I wanted to say welcome and how I would love your dogs!

Hello; Thank You. Yes my Companion animals are my wondrous children. I was married for almost a quarter century but we never had children so we had our canine children instead. Now being divorced this last almost 20 years I rescue Great Pyrenees dogs in need. I take the castoffs that no one wants as I feel an empathy as I too felt a castoff myself during early childhood. I can empathize with reading your profile about living in the Bible Belt. I live below Birmingham in Montevallo Alabama. Oh my an associate told me that this is the Buckle of the Bible Belt and I must agree with him on that. it's as if I Must keep my mouth shut and become someone else other than I am just to be able to get along. I absolutely HATE living here. I am trying my best now to retire early so That I can travel the Desert and Mountains of the southwest and beyond. These last half dozen years have been an eye opening mind expanding time. I have sacrificed big time and am s so close to my escape. I will consider myself the luckiest man on earth if I get out of here finally. I own my home and usually that's a god send but to me it is a prison that keeps me here. oh well I digress...rambling on because I have so few to chat with nearby and this is why I joined up to this site....Thank You again for the welcome !

@EvoQ I could so relate to what you wrote...my home was nice and paid for and yet it too, was a prison! I have not one close friend here! They are all else where! I wish you luck and keep in touch, you would be welcome to my desert home! I feel free at last...that is if I can get out of this condo, by Monday! I had to give my dog up when I became disabled 10 yrs ago, but as soon as I get back to Deming, I intend to get myself another rescue!

I quit after 3 I just couldn’t get over no climax for 20 something books.

Wheel Of Royalties.

That series became such an obvious slog for profits.

I thought GoT was bad.

WoT is like reading paint.

I was for a long time, then the books got quite boring, though they did pick up the pace once he died.

I got to the sixth book before I gave up Wheel of Time... I thought it repeated itself too often and I lost interest.

Just wanted to say welcome to you as well as I see you are a newbie, too!

@Freedompath thanks! I’m just feeling my way still at the moment

@MickZed that is how we all started...you may soon feel 'too much community,' before you know what has happened!
