Whilst I deplore these attacks I do wonder about the mentality that says "I have to display evidence of my religiosity and faith". In fact does wearing an Agnostics.com T shirt indicate similar tribal mentality? And invite similar attack ... We are frequently in far more exposed situation than some religions - everyone is against us!

I had to laugh at the article reporting that baseball hats be worn. Given hatred of many things American around the world it is like suggesting jumping from the frying pan into the ?. Personally I believe that the baseball hat should be banned - it's concept I was told was stolen from the French Foreign Legion forage cap. It is an unhealthy garment resulting at best in neck sun damage giving leathery skin and at worst nose and ear cancers necessitating amputation. How real is Cipolla's First Law of Stupidity?

Take one look at the web-site and add a HUGE bucket of salt. Russia Today (RT) is a past master at innuendo and sowing discord between groups. Instead, I suggest you read the what the BBC has to say. Here:- [bbc.com]

How did the BBC report differ from Global News report (relayed by RT and yes another Russian source)?
The GN appears to be far more comprehensive in its facts.

As for the BBC from what I have read they have not been held to be credible by many English parliamentarians and frequently have their own obscurantism.

@FrayedBear There are subtle, psychological differences in presentation. The parliamentarians in question have usually had a political axe to grind. The BBC web site is pretty fair, if a bit biased towards reporting on things closer to home. For a wider, dispassionate view I go to the Al-Jazeera web site and their news broadcasts.
I certainly pay scant heed to any of the Murdoch clan's affiliated news sources, starting with Fox News!

It's natural to want to display pride in your strongly held allegiances, prime examples being sports team jerseys and band t-shirts. However in the current climate, I would avoid any conspicuous displays of my beliefs about religion. Something small and subtle perhaps. But I would not want be on the wrong side of that one in a million chance of inviting/provoking harm to myself unecessarily. It's unfortunate, but simply a matter of pragmatism. Perhaps I'm more paranoid than most, but I wonder even about the safety of places of worship, and events such as the Reason Rally, and the weekly meetups announced on the Atheist Experience show. I worry that those could be inviting targets to strike at a large group of people of a particular persuasion.

Interesting story how anti-semetic behavior by immigrant semites (muslims) is being practiced against religious Jews.

See my comment above. RT is Russia Today, the state broadcaster.

Late 70s, early 80s I was a wave ski rider we were able to wear these, pity I couldn't find sunnies that wouldn't get washed away or I may not have my current eye issues.

Exactly what I advocate. The sunnies for that purpose were fitted into goggle's but not very available 50 years ago possibly longer that you should have started wearing them. And with current waiting times in public hospitals for cataract surgery it is a joke if you are single living alone and having to wait 18 months to be able to see. It makes me laugh that the Fred Hollows Foundation can carry out sight restoration for $25 but here you are looking about $7000.
