to each their own, but always with moderation.

I have seen that it has become fashionable to say to porn is not good. Denying porn is a symptom of good girl syndrome. But porn without incest, humiliation, or hurt is good for every adult. Porn is about sex and no one can deny sex is good.

Why do you exclude those categories of healthy porn? Are you kinkshaming or is there an underlying rationale why those categories are particularly unhealthy?

@domos

Sorry, I wanted to say incest, humiliation and hurt and not my tastes.

Sorry, but I won't watch a video that is over an hour long. It's not that I don't have the time, but I'm just not interested enough to put in that long an effort.

@TomMcGiverin am I responsible for your lack of interest?

@domos No, but I was just being honest.

@TomMcGiverin ok. Cool.

It's like any other preference: not about whether it's good or bad for a relationship. It's about whether all parties in the relationship feel the same way about it. If he wants to watch porn and it makes his partner feel threatened when he does it, somebody will have to full-on sacrifice their feelings in order to maintain harmony. That hardly ever works out. It boils down to finding a partner who is truly on the same page and not just one pretending to be accommodating in order to secure a relationship.

My concerns with porn are two-fold. One is that it may lead to the exploitation of vulnerable people for the production of it. The other is that may sometimes lead to the user becoming so conditioned and dependent on it, that they are no longer able to function sexually with real partners in normal sexual relations. In other words, they become so conditioned to perfect, air-brushed fantasy photos and videos of their desired choice of sexual stimulants that real people and bodies no longer arouse them. While this may not end up affecting me, over time it causes real pain and suffering in the society in general as more and more people can no longer function with real people in sexual relationships.

I guess that provides more job security for therapists......

Porn saved me from God.

As @Julie808 suggests, it depends.

My feeling is that porn can be negative but eroticism can be positive. My general definition of porn is something that degrades another for the sexual gratification of another = Bad. My general definition of eroticism is something that celebrates sexuality in a healthy way = Good. It's a fine and fuzzy line sometimes between the two.
