Ironic, isn't it, that the same Supreme Court justice who opposed vaccine mandates for health-care workers (objecting that workers were being put “to the choice of their jobs or an irreversible medical treatment” ), would also pen a draft opinion which, if adopted, could make millions of women face "the choice of their jobs" or having a child- a far more "irreversible" procedure than a vaccination. The "right" to refuse a vaccine is apparently far more important than a woman's right to own her own uterus.

If the draft becomes the Ruling it will have nothing to do with women controlling their uterus. The ruling will state that the Constitution is silent on the issue and therefore each State will decide. Since some States will pass abortion OK laws and some States will outlaw or restrict abortion the result can only be correctly described as Democratic voting.

But that implies that the majority rules. The clear majority in the nation favors abortion rights, if not the procedure itself. But Republicans have managed to gerrymander themselves control in multiple states, so that the majority doesn't get to pick their representatives. Example: In Michigan, in 2018, Democrat Gretchen Whitmer won with 54% of the vote to 43%, yet Republicans held on to 58 seats in the legislature vs. 52 Democrats. Republicans have held the Legislature for 21 of the last 30 years and the state Senate for the last 30 years, despite 12 of those years seeing a Democrat in the governor's mansion. It's clear that, state-wide, there are currently more people voting Democrat than Republican.

And yet it's those un-democratically elected Republican legislators who will be passing the laws.

@Paul4747 EVERY State has majority rule elections. Only the Federal Presidential election is not based solely on popular vote, so no implication is involved.

BOTH parties gerrymander. MD & NY (both solidly Blue States have had their State Courts nullify Democratic gerrymandering. The Republican and Democratic parties gerrymander every chance they get.

Without doubt more States will have abortion available then those that do not.
