Must be related to the Hell-iconia we have here on Kauai. We have only one road going either direction on my small island, 2 lanes for the most part, so when they close one lane to alternate traffic, with those traffic cones, it creates a bit of a Hell for those in a hurry or late to an appointment or worse yet to catch a plane.
But for those who subscribe to the postings of the work schedule, like me, can plan ahead. Yesterday morning, I got stopped 3 times for the alternating traffic, but still arrived to the wedding I was officiating in plenty of time... The wedding couple weren't informed of the traffic delays so were late to their own wedding!
Since I knew the road work schedule, I had planned ahead and brought a beach bag with me and just went to the beach after my appointment and swam in the bay until 1:30pm, which I knew was quitting time for the road construction. So, I got a slice of Heaven while others were cursing their bad luck in getting stuck in the lane closures. I drove home in very little time, with no delays!
