An interesting take on current American politics. [bangkokpost.com]
I like the following quotes from the article.

"The murders were "an act perpetrated in the name of a repugnant white nationalist ideology," he (Biden) said." :- As someone familiar with US foreign policy, he would know.
&

"Biden, who says he left retirement to run for president after he heard Trump refusing to clearly denounce a neo-Nazi rally in Charlottesville in 2017, called the Buffalo killings "antithetical to everything we stand for in America.":- A few neo-Nazi's in Ukraine, the other country who with the US refused to denounce Nazi's at a UN resolution forwarded by Russia [sydneycriminallawyers.com.au]

The fact that the racist assholes in the US face virtually no repercussions is a HUGE factor in the increase of racially-motivated violence.
The fact that the talking heads on fox are allowed to LIE about so much is another.
The fact that 45 is a racist piece of shit, who was allowed to spew his bile unchecked, is another.

The fact that the christo-fascists in the US can be found at every level of government is YET another.

Trying to blame Biden is laughable.
Not to mention an exercise in gaslighting.

Don't think the article blames Biden, just states the obvious which is he/ his admin has failed to deliver what was promised. He has failed to live up to expectations.

@puff As has every single other holder of the office.

Given the absolute clusterfuck 45 left behind, and the obstructionism of the republicans, along with Manchin and Sinema, he's gotten as much done as they'll let him.
McConnell is one of the biggest obstructionists around.
Let's be honest about all of this.

@KKGator To be honest, it is so polarised it's obstruction all round and has been since Bush's war on terror when all agreed.
Yes republican's are bad but plenty of shite dribbles out of the Democrats as well. The sad thing is the only time they agree is when both sides have been paid off to agree.
For Biden to say he left retirement as he was so concerned that Trump did not condemn neo-Nazi's in Charlottsville in 2017 and then as POTUS allowing the UN vote in 2021 is a little hypocritical imo, something that is perfectly legitimate to criticise.

@puff Problem is, politicians are supported and beholden to their constituency. That group has become so diverse and polarized no one can provide for all. Satisfy the maximum number is the credo of politics. It is (rightly) said a people get the government they deserve.
Right now gas prices are increasing and Biden has been trying to get the price lowered. The reality is we are running out of oil and should have weaned ourselves off of it years ago. Even the Latino group have said they will vote republican as Biden hasn't reigned in inflation. Something no politician can do.

As if Vladimir Putin isn't a full blown Nazi.

So a Nazi forwarded an anti-Nazi motion to the UN and to teach the Nazi a lesson it was not supported. Clear as mud.
Putin, if a label is needed, is closer to communist (an authoritarian nationalist) than fascist.

@puff He's the biggest capitalist oligarch in the world and Fascist, totalitarian dictator. So Olaf Scholz, a German, is going to pose Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a Jew, as Nazi? President Zelenskyy is supposed to sign Minsk 2, which is nothing more than a letter of surrender to Russian Federation. You are as brainwashed as Fray.

@barjoe The article was about the US with my quotes illustrating hypocrisy.

Putin has turned rabid and needs to be put down, no argument there. Just want the Russians to do it (no-one likes foreigners interfering in their politics do they?) and hope it's not a case of "the devil you know". I hope Russia is then absorbed into the EU, the US's worse nightmare.
As you know, have no love of NATO either and US interventionist foreign policy sucks, as does Australia's unquestioned support

@puff A free Russia in the EU would not be a nightmare for me. It'd be a nightmare for Trump and for Boris Johnson, but it wouldn't hurt the people of the United States. Quite the contrary.

@barjoe NATO would either fold which means the US loses much influence in Europe or else it would morph into a very powerful European army which the US would also not be overly wrapped in. No longer the biggest fish in the pond.

@puff I would be speaking about a defeated Russia, which is the only way Russia will ever be a free country.

@barjoe That is the American way.
"Want to be free? Then we need to defeat your society.
Don't want to have societal change ie what's on offer isn't floating your goat? Obviously hate freedom then. Sanction and undermine until they understand freedom properly."

A defeated USA may also be the only way Americans get their freedom back perhaps as well........

@puff America is too strong. Russia is weak. They're losing the war.

@barjoe when's the last time the US won one again?

@puff We always win, our problem is we are very poor at occupation.
