Had a friendly argument with a Xian in the doctor's office today. I pointed out that the xian right were all in support of overturning Roe v. Wade and the Rs were going after it to appeal to their conservative Xian voter base. He argued that while he sees abortion as murder, most Xians recognize the personal and medical need for an abortion option in this country and it was only the hardline evangelicals that support no abortion rights whatsoever.

That has not been the information as I know it. Have any of you heard of any Xian groups who were soft on abortion and think of it as a necessary evil? I've never heard such a thing but that was his attitude toward abortion and he was very xian.

Most if not all of the "liberal" xtian churches support the right to abortion.

Must've been how vociferous and predominant the unhinged voices of evangelical xianity are. They drown out the more middle road xians. I learned something new.

Most Americans identify as Christian. Most Americans support Roe v Wade. Truth.

that is because, the greater the absolutist view, the greater potential for another absolutists view to create drama and contention to put on the news and make abortion a bigger political football than climate or economic division etc. distraction, special interests prioritizing for you. friends and enemies do this.

That's true. I've just never heard of any sect of xianity that was soft on the topic.
