And that's coming from a man... so you know it's true...

I told my wife she's lazy... being a stay at home mom is not hard...

Well perhaps he wasn't putting in as much effort. I was a stay at home mom, and some days were easy some were hard. I had the house and the yard and took in day care kids to help pay the bills. I tried my best to give them a bit of home preschool, since we couldn't afford an organized one.

We were poor, and my husband never let up on his guilt trip about how "easy" I had it staying home "eating bon bons" was his go to dig. (I had never in my life eaten a bon bon!)

I'm glad I had the opportunity to stay home with the kids, and it was worth the guilt trip put on me by my husband, because if I had gone to work and put my kids in daycare I would have felt just as guilty. Every parent should have the choice whether to be a hands on parent or to delegate the job. It's a choice not everyone is cut out for one or the other.

Having read the article, he was the stay at home parent with the first four kids, so I can see his viewpoint.

However, I suspect he has forgotten how hard it was for him with the first child, and he thinks his wife should somehow be as efficient as he is now, despite having far less experience.

He probably originally stayed home with the kids either because he has a lower paying job than his wife or because he had more talent/skill with childcare, which are good reasons for doing so but not reasonable justification to call his wife lazy.

She also stayed at home with the previous children for the first year, and I wonder if he is doing the same for her.

I'm not touching this with a ten-foot pole.

You told that to your wife? And yet you're still able to write? How long did it take you to become conscious after you told her that?
