Had a very interesting and enjoyable surprise trip yesterday.
Got asked if I'd like to see the Mental Heath Half-way House facility but mentioned that Evangeloon had been moved there some time on Monday.
" No probs on that part, " replied Martin, " He won't be moving in there until either Wednesday or Thursday now because he made a very nasty remark to an Aboriginal woman who is a patient in the Psych. Ward and she responded by giving him two successive hay-makers to the family jewels which, according to eye witnesses laid him flat and squealing in pain, so are you coming for a look or not?"
I replied in the affirmative, did not need to change my clothes because I already dressed and merely biding my time before ringing a cab to drop me at the Shopping complex.
What an eye opener I saw.
A very nicely designed and purpose built building of 1 single floor with a separate lockable and secure facility for employees to park the vehicles in, nicely appointed lawns ( though looking quite a bit worse for it now that it is mid-winter here, fruit trees, security gates between the front areas of the establishment and the rear grassed areas.
Inside, 7 individual rooms with en-suites for the patients, a community style kitchen and Dining area, each patient has his/her own individual cupboard/storage space and a small refrigerator as well.
The rooms are spacious and storage places are provided but not intruding in to the room since they are built in or fold out as needed, BIG PLUS, beds are NON hospital style more like the ones you would find in either most homes or motels.
Cooking facilities, imo, would make a Cordon Bleu Chef jealous, I know because they made me jealous.
Even the 2 Isolation Units that are separated from the rest of the building, etc, are very nicely designed and appointed.
Staffing is a 3 person per shift roster system with the Staff able to observe "goings on" and intervene if and when necessary BUT as I was told and shown, there have been no such "disturbances to the Status Quo in the 3 years since the facility was first opened.
But even though it may well like a "soft" place with a soft and easy lifestyle, there ARE RULES and those Rules must be followed, so I think Evangeloon still may be in for 1 very big shock and surprise when his " family jewels" have recovered enough for him to be transferred.

Sounds great but doubt he'll make it.

I kind of agree but on the other hand this could be his last chance kind of, otherwise it may well mean admission to a not so nice and comfy Institution of some sort.

@Triphid I don't think he has the ability to figure that out at his age.

@Lilac-JadeCanada I fully agree and with his talents regarding arrogance and self-righteousness, etc, with his mind-set of " Jesus is with me and guides in everything so how can I be wrong" I tend towards there being a far greater chance of RMS Titanic raising itself and sailing into New York Harbour with a full head of steam.

@Triphid Yup, far more likely.

I get the feeling their three year status quo is in jeopardy. They will not make it to four. lol

The Facility will but as for the Evangeloon even making it through the first week I have my doubts, very, very severe doubts btw.

@Triphid On the bright side...You and the neighbourhood can enjoy some peace and quiet and if lucky it will last the whole of winter. 🙂

@Betty Oh I do so hope so, it has been ever so blissful around here of late.

@Triphid I bet it's a nice feeling to relax in the evening and not have to think about what "he" may be up to. I hope he is gone for good. You and your neighbours have more than earned the break. 🙂

@Betty Oh trust me with him not around life is so much better.

Funny that. A thorough kicking in the goolies tends to do that to most blokes. And he got what he so richly deserved.

You paint a wonderful picture of a place of luxury. 🙂

Maybe it should be a standard everywhere.

@Betty Try Norway and Anders Breivik.

@anglophone I was thinking North America. Some places should be condemned.

Not exactly "luxury" as such there are rules and Regulations that MUST be adhered to, like for example the BIG No-No Rule of absolutely NO intimate fraternizations between " clients" what-so-ever.
On most rules you are permitted 2 warnings and the third breach means you are OUT ASAP, on the above rule, one breach and your arse is grass and you are OUT Big time.

From what I gather from my source it was NOT getting kicked in the goolies, it was getting 2 swift and hard punches to them that brought him to his knees.

@Triphid That would do it. 🙂

@Betty I hope it hurt just s much as mine did back in 1975 when the towing hitch of a trailer caught me there.
Talk about seeing stars, you have be kidding I saw distant galaxies, comets, meteors and everything else.

@Triphid Ouch! That sounds truly awful.

@Betty Let's just vsay that I would NOT go through that again, not even for a billion dollars.

@Triphid Just think. For a Billion dollars you could buy the whole neighbourhood and never ever see Evangeloon again. 😉
