My lack of understanding for the people of Alabama that are voting in the upcoming election, is beyond reality, Roy Moore has accusers, and I'm convinced that they are not all lying, and the good Christians have convinced themselves his faith makes him a good candidate for office, I'm also not sure about the ones voting party above sanity, or morality, or even offering a, are you fucking kidding me.

Al Franken and John Conyers are being pushed out by the dems. Roy Moore will likely be welcomed in by the gop.

a whole segment of the culture in Alabama and in much of the rest of the country is going through a moral crisis. They know that Moore is an immoral and dangerous demagogue. But they have sold out so totally to right wing political ideology and to the demagoguery of their evangelical leaders who want power to impose their religious dogma on us all that they value the immorality of those political and religious dogmas above truth, honor, moral decency, and democracy.

And the hell of it is that they know how wrong what they are doing is, but can't stop themselves from doing it. They are sick and making our whole nation sick/

Based on what I've seen from some of my family members, I think abortion plays a huge role here.

Anti-abortion declarations by republicans are blinders on the eyes of Christians that keep them from seeing or caring about anything else. Anyone not "pro-life" is perceived as evil to the core. At least Roy Moore isn't a baby killer, etc., and nothing is worse than a baby killer, right?

Or another metaphor: anti-abortion policy is the drug the GOP dealers use to keep Christians addicted and enslaved. They keep coming back even when they hate their dealer, because nobody else sets them up with what they crave.

Even the religious right down there are supporting him.

Yeah. I think this is a horrible sign of our times. Us vs. them at any cost.

This should be no contest … but then again.. that’s what I’d thought about trump… It’s said the red states preach morality - and the blue states practice it. No shit ~
