We need a new mythology, one that might not entail "gods" per se, but one that does for a science based culture what the gods did for ancient societies.

For example: A creation "story" which breaks down "creation" into story form the way most creation stories do... showing us our place in the cosmos. Hero stories that share our challenges and our victories. And finally, the stories of the forces that brought us here.

This isn't about "lying," but about putting our existence into perspective... via story. It's the way we have related to our universe for hundreds of thousands of years, and it's not about to change anytime soon. So let's take advantage of it, and use it to help create unity among us.
