For people who are not mobile it may be the only way. The only issue is that it is better to do it on private land or in a park, it is of course very dangerous on a public road.

I live on a popular bike path, so I see folks walking their dog while riding a bike, or on a skate board and even someone who walks their dog while in their wheel chair. Lots of folks drive their dogs to the dog park to let them run around. Whatever works for the enjoyment of both dog and keeper is better than nothing, as long as it's not putting the pet in danger.

Some people don't allow pets in their cars. We don't know the whole story behind the photo -- but if it's to say that Americans are lazy - well that's true in many ways - but I'm not sure the photo warrants a reason to hate. My guess is the photo is a whimsical one.

I did that when recovering from knee replacement you judgemental fool, as have several of my friends with orthopedic problems...I bet somebody in Europe has done it too.....
