So, I got called nigger today. Again.
If I can get through ONE year of my life where that’s not the go to word for someone, it would be a stellar year...

Shit dude!!! People are not bright. They are hardly even people sometimes.

@Shelton 🙂 just about on that little thread lol 😉

I am sorry. I am so sick of these assholes. I was never that naive to think that when Obama was elected, as a country we were “post racial” but the level is frightening. They are getting bolder.

That might be because the king of racist is in the white house

7

Seems to be getting worse right now. I'm a big, bald white guy so too frequently the peckerheads think I'm one of them and the shit I hear them say... There are times I want to apologize for my skin color AND my gender. Sorry man.

7

I'm sorry.
It's both sad and embarrassing.

6

Really sorry that happened. I don't know what is wrong with people that they can't just love their fellow man without making judgments. I grew up in Texas in a very racist household. I knew deep down that it wasn't right and as soon as I was on my own I dismissed all of that conditioning from my head. People say it's the way they were raised...that's just an excuse...it's a mindset and one makes a free choice to believe the way they do.

Unfortunately the civility of our society seems to be backsliding. May your future encounters be much more humane

5

I'm sorry that you have to deal with such ignorance.

5

I am sorry to hear this. I like to hope progress continues. Evidence is sparse though.

4

I hate that that happened to you !

Here in my town, someone had it written on their car, and the side of their house.

We still have so damn far to go...

4

I'm so sorry. Not all ignorance is religious in nature.

3

I'm sorry. That makes me feel sad for you. Unfortunately, racism seems to be coming out into the open more and more, thanks to poor leadership in a number of countries, not just the USA. We just have to fight back and educate our children and grandchildren and friends and neighbours. The violent response suggested by some people here is not the answer.

3

When I hear these things I wonder: if we evolved from dimwitted knuckle dragging prehistoric humans how come there are still dimwitted assholes around?

3

I am so sorry. No words...that should never be a word hurled at anyone. Most days, I'm ashamed to be white.

😟 😟 😟 😟 horrible reminder that there are too many awful people in this world.

3

sorry

It's 2018 and walking, talking garbage who spews that kind of rancid shit out of their filthy sewer holes still wastes space on our planet. Pathetic.

Geeze... im so sorry.

Sorry that happened. Some people are just fn asses.
I don't have any idea how difficult it is to be a black man, in this skidding backward country.
I've met some people, (well off, usually) who decided I was (pick your insult) for being poorer, less 'classy', my clothes, car, weight... They make certain you know they're "better" nope
Anyway, that turned into a tangent, gawd.
Any of those judgemental idiots don't deserve consideration.
Again, I apologize for those worthless crumbs. (You may say I don't need to, but I like to, cause if any of them see this, it'll p*** em off!

Ugh. I heard some dickweed yell "yo quiero taco bell" at my Mexican neighbors yesterday. Really? They were walking their dog on the other side of the street minding their own business. Wtf? People suck. I'm sorry.

WTF. Sorry man, I really had no idea that sort of thing still is common.

ONE year is a reasonable request. Sorry you get those more than that.

Oh my Zeus! In this day and age....

Sorry you have to put up with that. It's a bit better in the UK because we're very up on reporting that stuff and getting prosecutions - yes, even for "just" calling people names. My son, who is half Nigerian has of course had some trouble, and got some satisfaction. But when he joined the police, he found out an interesting fact - that while it's against the law to be racist outside of a police cell, once inside the law doesn't apply, so people can call you whatever you like and get away with it. He did, however, once get a compensation cheque for a man he arrested outside & let out a barrage of racist insults - it was for the grand sum of £25. He framed it.

Not even going there....

You'd better alert all the famous Black comedians who use that word about your sensitivity.

As for the jerk who hurled the epithet towards you, he branded himself not you. In future try to keep better company.
