So, I was driving (in Australia) back from Canberra to Goulburn last night. It was around 9pm.

The moon is almost full, but there is cloud cover.

At one point, I saw a person - a figure, really - standing by the side of the road. No car around, and no properties anywhere near. Just standing there.

I nearly turned around to go back but my gut told me no.

I really don't know what was going on there. It was strange.

That is rather peculiar, did you get a good look at the individual?

It was literally a glimpse, But someone was there. Like I say, a figure. Very probably just mundane and the person was waiting to cross the highway.

Alone.

And no properties in sight.

It was strange.

Weird. Especially as there's pretty much bugger all between Canberra and Goulburn. Possibly one of the locals from those little decaying towns that got bypassed when they redid the Hulme Highway. Mighty strange folk left behind in those places.

I tend to attract strange folk. It's one of my Marvel powers. I just knew I did not want to got back, bad juju.

Maybe the fella picked a strange place and Time to do something intimate with himself? That’s what I’m going with anyway.

I am not convinced of the gender. Probably a guy. But it was short and slouched. And I am talking about a second worth of glimpsing but I got as much as I could. The point is this - nothing and nowhere was around. The writer in me wanted to know. The human in me said drive, just drive. I went with the latter.

Strange because you don't oft see it, or strange because the terrain is so inhospitable as to make a single person standing alone at evening seem dangerous?
AU is a big place.

Strange because there was no reason - that I could see - why someone would be out there and just standing by the side of the road. I like to think sense prevailed, but to be honest a part of me wanted to go back and find out what was going wrong. But my intuition said no. And I trust my intuition.
